Au Pair from Australia Prepares for Global Pathfinder Summit in Virginia

Morgan from Australia Among Only 100 International, Emerging Leaders to Attend 2019 Global Pathfinder Summit

We are proud to announce that three outstanding Au Pair in America au pairs were invited to the 2019 Global Pathfinder Summit in Virginia! The summit, which takes place from May 20 – May 24, 2019, invites 100 international, emerging leaders to develop global leadership capabilities through a mixture of presentations, workshops, and events. An invitation to the summit is a rare honor – and a true testament to these au pairs’ potential to change the world.

One of the au pairs who earned an invitation, Morgan Savy, shared that she’s most excited to attend the summit because of her desire to make the world a better place.

“Prior to being an au pair, I was a Program Officer for a charity organization,” Morgan said, adding that she hopes to pursue a career in this field in the future. “When I heard about the Global Pathfinder Summit, I knew it would be the perfect opportunity to re-awaken my passion for making the world a better place, to meet like-minded people, and to share and hear stories of what is currently happening all over the world in this line of employment.”

When asked about her prior leadership experience, Morgan shared an important lesson that she’s learned as an au pair in New York:

“[Being an au pair] has given me the ability to see how other people live,” she said. “All of these minor [cultural] differences really do add up and shape different communities with different priorities and different challenges. It is important to understand and experience different ways of life to truly understand people and be a good leader.”

Morgan added that the leader she admires the most is Martin Luther King Jr. because of his ability to inspire positive change through words and non-violent actions. As someone who hopes to pursue a community development and leadership role, she said that she hopes to develop similar qualities at the summit.

“I hope that [in the future] I will look back on my time at the summit for ideas, encouragement and insight,” Morgan said. “Hopefully I’ll stay connected with a lot of the other attendees at the conference so we can move forward together and make an even bigger impact.”
